My coaching approach is shaped by a deep respect for the challenges and responsibilities faced by professionals, whether emerging teachers or experienced leaders: I aim to create a space that’s calm, reflective, and genuinely supportive.
For example, for NQTs, coaching is often about building confidence, developing classroom presence, and finding a sustainable rhythm. I help them reflect on their practice, manage the emotional demands of the role, and stay connected to the values that brought them into teaching. It’s about helping them grow into their professional identity with clarity and resilience.
With school leaders, my focus is on strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and values-led leadership. I offer a space to step back from the day-to-day pressures, reflect on priorities, and explore how to lead with authenticity and impact. Leadership can be isolating, so coaching provides a vital opportunity to think aloud, test ideas, and reconnect with purpose.
Across all roles, my style is warm, non-judgmental, and tailored to the individual. I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help people make sense of their experiences. My aim is always to support growth—not just in skills and performance, but in confidence, clarity, and wellbeing and to focus on meeting any standards which are required.
My approach is not just focused on solving problem but helping people thrive in a demanding and deeply human profession.
