Nazya Ghalib

Nazya Ghalib
(She/Her)

Biography:

I believe that all leaders can bring the best out of the people they serve and the work they do, through compassion, by being just and showing generosity of spirit.

I am values-driven and lead by example and have coached and mentored SLT teams I work with, as a Headteacher, Consultant and Governor across the maintained and independent sector, in a range of aspects including Ofsted framework, workforce development, Curriculum, inclusive practice and special educational needs. I have been involved in a range of academic research linked to Sensory integration in classroom practice, Effective frameworks for mentoring in schools, Use of video technology to enhance the teaching & learning experience, Coaching and Leadership development.

Furthermore, I am a BAMEed Network coach and mentor. This means that in my own time I provide support to colleagues that are referred, to help them find the best path towards their professional goals. I have also represented the organisation at the Festival of Education and in conference.

I believe that acting with integrity and bringing your authentic self into the coaching relationship helps build trust. This enables a positive, collaborative, and effective coaching experience. My approach is person-centred and responsive to client's needs to facilitate self-discovery and learning. I practice active listening and seek to empower clients by fostering their self-belief and autonomy. Sessions provide a safe and confidential environment for the client to explore challenges, reflect on their experiences, and encourage meaningful goals.

"Nazya helped me to identify my developmental points and understand how I could manage these points as well as move forward with them. I do feel like a more confident leader now with a clearer idea of what I need to do next and how I might thrive. The sessions were kind and considerate as well as extremely illuminating and helpful; the best coaching sessions I have had (and this is my third go at being coached!)." –HM (Associate Assistant Headteacher)
