(He/Him)

Biography:

As a Leadership Coach, I work closely with heads, deputies, and assistant headteachers across the UK and have worked with participants from British International Schools. I have coached 5 NPQH cohorts (75) with many of them securing career advancement and headship positions during the program. My goal in broadening my professional expertise and network is based on this experience whilst continuing to improve the quality of evidence-informed education and future leaders.

My background includes 30 years of teaching, 15 of which were in leadership roles. This has enhanced my coaching with a deep understanding of leading teams with a proven track record of developing others, providing support, effective communication, and active listening; with a core focus on whole school priorities where safeguarding the welfare of students to underpin their progress and attainment is our shared core purpose.

My coaching is aligned with the standards of the International Coaching Federation and Headteacher/Teacher Standards, emphasising the development of future school leaders through a balance of supportive and challenging strategies. Based on trust, coaching for NPQ’s and school leaders fosters an interplay between 'Push' and 'Pull' behaviours in a coaching agreement relevant to career stage and participants aspirations providing structured feedback to developing increasing challenge with open-ended questioning that empowers a refinement of skills as part of their continuous growth in their leadership.

I hold an Ofqual recognised Level 7 Diploma in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring and NPQH alongside memberships with the Chartered Management Institute and International Coaching Federation. These qualifications and memberships affirm my adherence to high professional standards in both teaching and coaching.

My approach in ethical coaching across the NPQ frameworks is parallel to the factual evidence-based research within the course structure by supporting participants’ goals and school priorities through questioning and increasing challenge aimed to increase their personal reflection, leadership skills for professional growth and the advancement of educational quality alongside the overarching responsibilities in headship to deliver a culture of continuous improvement.
