I have recently retired as the Head of a large (760 pupil) day and boarding prep school at which I was responsible for all day-to-day function, leadership and management. I was also part of an executive team of four running the foundation with a turnover of £30million. I am now working as an Executive Coach and Mentor and as an educational consultant with Headteacher and governing board appraisals and strategic planning being the key parts of my work. Alongside that, I am a school governor and an Academic Tutor for the University of Buckingham, a role overseeing the qualification of teacher apprentices and PGCE students.
I qualified as a Level 7 Executive Coach and Mentor through the Institute of Leadership and Management in May 2024 and hold an MSc in Educational Leadership and Management with a dissertation focus on appraisal.
I have mostly coached Headteachers or other senior leaders in schools; however, I have also coached senior leaders in banking, finance and charity trustees.
I operate according to the ICF (International Coaching Federation) Code of Ethics.

Testimonials:
“Working with Bill, I had someone actively listen and have empathy. Through this I got a far better understanding of my own thoughts and the direction I wanted to go in. I felt we achieved something together.”

“Bill was able to probe and delve deeper if he felt there was more for me to say. This was managed well, and the questioning allowed for a deeper, more productive, conversation and real results in terms of dealing with the issues I’d brought to the sessions.”
